Aerial Photos of Ginormous Pumping Project at Intermountain Power Plant near Delta, Utah
Our client wanted some drone based aerial photos of their giant pumps in action at the Intermountain Power Plant just outside of Delta, Utah. They've been contracted to pump all the brine water from one containment pond to the other. Apparrently, there is a leak somewhere in the liner and they need to get the water out to repair it. To do this, they built a new containment pond adjacent to the leaky one. They then placed 3 giant pumps on a barge and ran the pipes over the berm and into the new pond. As the brine water was injected into the new pond it formed an interesting cloud-like effect that really brought the photo together. The guys running the pumps say it's going to take them a few weeks to drain it... now that's a lot of water!
Just a couple of years ago getting quality aerial photos required paying a lot of money to put a photographer in a plane. Those days are over. Now, companies have an affordable tool at their fingertips to help showcase their work in an encompassing yet very intimate way. We were able to get all the shots we needed in just under an hour.
